Our program of recovery also values peer support, which has brought great success in changing many lives. Redemption House Foundation has helped save the lives of 486 individuals. Redemption House Foundation is mainly staffed by sober and drug-free volunteers, many who are living in our New Beginning sober houses. Often, residents cannot be placed directly into sober living situations and they end up living on the street or in shelters, creating enormous pressure on their fragile sobriety.

Responses show many organizations not yet addressing potential risks from gen AI

These organizations also are using AI more often than other organizations in risk modeling and for uses within HR such as performance management and organization design and workforce deployment optimization. Our latest survey results show changes in the roles that organizations are filling to support their AI ambitions. In the past year, organizations using AI most often hired data engineers, machine learning engineers, and Al data scientists—all roles that respondents commonly reported hiring in the previous survey. But a much smaller share of respondents report hiring AI-related-software engineers—the most-hired role last year—than in the previous survey (28 percent in the latest survey, down from 39 percent). Roles in prompt engineering have recently emerged, as the need for that skill set rises alongside gen AI adoption, with 7 percent of respondents whose organizations have adopted AI reporting those hires in the past year. The findings suggest that hiring for AI-related roles remains a challenge but has become somewhat easier over the past year, which could reflect the spate of layoffs at technology companies from late 2022 through the first half of 2023. Organizations continue to see returns in the business areas in which they are using AI, andthey plan to increase investment in the years ahead. We see a majority of respondents reporting AI-related revenue increases within each business function using AI. And looking ahead, more than two-thirds expect their organizations to increase their AI investment over the next three years. These issues not only co-occur with addictions but also exist in their own accord, such as depression, anxiety, and trauma. I moved into a sober house that had a culture of recovery and lived there for 18 months. Afterwards I went back to school to become a drug and alcohol counselor. Full recovery is so much more that the abstinence of eating disordered behaviors, thoughts and urges. On a direct bus route where buses downtown come every 15 minutes, the mansion features 6 bathrooms, 2 living rooms, a meeting room, a game room and a backyard that hosts numerous sober functions. Emotional safety will come as a result of learning how to face your fears and by addressing interpersonal conflicts, not running from them. Because setbacks are a natural part of life, resilience becomes a key component of recovery. Our goal is to be a resource for the community, hospitals, treatment centers, recovery houses, and most importantly the addict/alcoholic who is struggling and needs a place to go until the services they need are available. The Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs (DDAP) is initiating a licensure program for drug and alcohol recovery houses that receive funding or referrals from public sources. DDAP’s Final-Omitted Regulations on Standards for Drug and Alcohol Recovery House Licensure are available in the PA Code & Bulletin and DDAP is accepting applications for recovery houses seeking licensure. SAMHSA’s mission is to lead public health and service delivery efforts that promote mental health, prevent substance misuse, and provide treatments and supports to foster recovery while ensuring equitable access and better outcomes.
